Encouragement

This is a part of an ongoing conversation i’ve had with a guy named Alf Evans, who i helped arrange benefit concert for. He and his family are heading down to cambodia in February and are going to be ministering and working against child slavery/trafficking down there, and so all of the money made from the benefit would go to help them. This is obviously very little information on him as far as the way God has been using him and shown through him, but eh. anyway, this is something that had a great impact on the way i’ve been thinking.

Me: “When you told me “I’m excited about what God is doing with you” That really hit me. Like, i have been really down on myself about that, thinking How could God ever use someone like me, much less even not wretch in disgust when i’ve gone against him so obstinately… and then it hit me as i was thnking, God loves me and wants to use me. He really does, even if i’m against him and i hurt him, he still wants to see me broken and hasn’t given up… it was totally humbling. Thank God… all things good are a gift from Him”

Alf:  “totally true!”

“Paul said, “should we sin more so that Grace may abound?!”“

“Never!”

“So, obviously since we’re in love with Jesus we flee from sin.

But when you think about the eternality of the Father

You have to take in to consideration that He can see all time equally vividly

when that thought process is applied to you as an individual it means that He has and can currently see all the sins you have ever committed, and will ever commit.

And….

drum roll please….

He

Still

Loves

You

For His own glory

sounds like a win win to me.

So steward this responsibility well.

And then be ready for the next task that He has for you.

Just like the parable of the talents.”

Me: “Thanks alf. I’ve been struggling a lot with myself lately… it’s some pretty great encouragement. I’m excited for you to come.”

Alf: “I am too.

Can I make a comment on the “struggling with myself comment”?”

Me: “Yeah.”

Alf:  :usually those are indications that your eyes aren’t on Christ enough.

It really will all just fade away when he is all you’re focused on.

You’re getting a glimpse of His light right now with this task…

but I have a feeling it’s going to get brighter soon.

As long as you keep those eyes on Him.

Not on you, in light of Him.

Just on Him.

Okay, i’m out.

You have an awesome night.Roman’s 8 baby
